NTV ‘The Beat Host’ Douglas Lwanga is undoubtedly one of the most influential TV presenters in Kampala and he seems to be doing a very good job of promoting both the established and young music talents as he hosts an average of two artistes per day.
With his program acting as platform already we are comfortable to say that Lwanga has done well to push artistes’ music to their fans in different regions of the country and the world at large.
On the same note, Douglas introduced an artiste promotion platform dubbed ‘Brand Purple’ where he will be basically helping international and diaspora-based Uganda artistes to cut through the Ugandan market. This platform is slated to kick off on 30th of September starting with Radical77 a United Kingdom-based Nigerian artiste.
Radical has had successful music tours and his songs have received airplay on international media both in Europe and Africa. A good example of one of the songs he is known for is dubbed ‘Black Gold’ which hit two years ago.
Following on from the success of Black and Gold a few weeks ago, Radical 77 released Lady Maria’ audio whose video was released late August. The Video has already been premiered on East African TV stations like NTV the Beat and UBC on Horizon Vibe show with Calvin Da Entertainer and he plans an East African Media Tour if all goes as planned.
