Besigye Advises Bobi Wine To ‘Keep Fighting On’ After Visiting Him In Hospital

If there are hardliners we should give credit to, political activist and former president of the Forum For Democratic Change (FDC), retired colonel Kizza Besigye is one of them. Many of us have grown up seeing him fighting his battles with the ruling NRM party as well as police over his opposing views.

We are also comfortable to say that this has sharpened his political career and any word of advice to upcoming politicians can be of much help to them. Following the recent Arua by-election saga where musician-turned-politician Robert Sentatu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine was involved, Besigye has come out to advise him.

His advice to Bobi came after he paid a visit to him at Lubaga hospital where the legislature is currently admitted following the alleged torture which was exercised on him by security forces who arrested him in Arua.

“Hon Kyagulanyi’s torturers broke his right nasal bone, among several other injuries that he showed us, when I & colleagues visited him at Lubaga Hospital. Keep smiling & keep fighting on. Happily, his spirit is not broken at all! We keep him in our prayers as he recovers. We shall overcome!”. Read Besigye’s post on his social media platforms

Meanwhile this comes in the wake of what was perceived a beef between Bobi Wine and Besigye following the earlier statements he made about Bobi Wine which was viewed as opposing Bobi.

“The mistake Bobi Wine might make is to think that people will vote him and he removes Museveni to become Uganda’s president. I know people will tell him that he has many supporters but Uganda’s problems will still stay”

This statement sparked off controversy that Besigye is jealous of Bobi Wine although he later cleared the air saying he has no differences with Bobi Wine.
